Book the Look You Want

Take a look at their work and if you like their editing style, the styling, the overall vibe then it’s probably a good fit. If you want your images to be playful and candid but they only showcase posed photos where everyone is smiling at the camera, that’s probably what you’ll end up getting. Booking a photographer solely on price or convenience isn’t going to get you the images you’re envisioning. Just like you wouldn’t adopt a cat and hope it acts like a dog, don’t expect your photographer to change their style/process.

Communication

If you reach out to a photographer with interest to shoot with them but you decide to go a different direction, that’s totally ok! Just give them a heads up. It’s ok if they are out of your price range, or didn’t have availability that worked for you. Whatever the reason may be, don’t leave them on read.

Complete Their Booking Requirements

If your photographer requires a deposit or contract make sure you complete their booking requirements so there isn’t a misunderstanding on if your date and time is locked in or not. This protects both parties involved. Some photographers are kind enough to hold your date but can miss out on potential bookings.
