Your Photographer Wants To Help

More often than not your photographer wants to help style you. It helps you feel positive about your session and It creates Images that are on par with their work. So many photographers value styling and are willing and available to assist you in pulling the wardrobe you’ll love!

Start Early

Styling takes time, start early so you have time  to shop, try things on ahead of time, bounce ideas off your photographer, and iron out the details (like shoes and undergarments). Ideally, this session will be framed on your wall, or make it into a photo book. Waiting until the last minute to pick your outfits will only stress you (and photographer) out.

Your Photographer has Styling Resources

Client Closet: Did you know a lot of photographers have client closets? If you book a session with them you have access to using pieces from their client closet. This is a valuable asset that can save you money, or the hassle of hunting for the perfect dress.

Style Guides: Many photographers have style guides they will send you before your session to give you pointers. Some photographers utilize style & select to help jumpstart the styling process.

Stylist: It’s no secret, styling takes time and the right eye. Your photographer may need to outsource this task and hire someone like me. A good stylist always works together with the photographer and the client to ensure the wardrobe is a good fit for both parties.

Trust

Chances are you hired your photographer based on their previous work, you’ve scrolled Instagram and been captivated by their images. Those images are no happy accident, they were likely styled. Trusting your photographer or a stylist to help with your wardrobe can be the very thing that helps you get the type of images you were inspired by in the first place.
